SpotiD at the UK Oracle User Group Conference

SpotiD at the UK Oracle User Group Conference

Oracle UK have just completed a successful Oracle Users Group Conference in Birmingham at the ICC, attended by hundreds of Oracle Enterprise customers from all over Europe.

During the 3 day event, Oracle used the SpotiD service to drive attendance to their booth and provide a digital means to access content.

Several Spots were used on the booth itself allowing delegates to request information regarding specific products. Further Spots were used during session streams during the event to allow the audience to request speaker contact details and access content from the Oracle website specific to the content of the presentation.

Some of more interesting statistics from using SpotiD from this event were that approx 50% of the requests for the Presentation Spots came from recommendations/sharing of responses later in the day. These requests were shared from delegates that requested the Presentation Spots earlier in the day. Our timestamp tracking allow us to analyse traffic requests at any time. This indicates that SpotiD responses can be viral, providing the responses are remarkable enough that the recipients want to share them.

Another interesting statistic was the 30% that followed the shortened URL in the response to visit the recommended website or download the recommended pdf. Once again, through tracking the click-throughs & their timestamps, we can deduce whether the visits were done from a mobile smart phone or later in the day/night from a PC. (In a later version, we will be more accurate with this technique) Interestingly even though smart phone users can surf the web, some find it simpler to receive a link that connects them directly to the desired/recommended web page. In this case, it has given visibility to Oracle with lead capture and viral lead generation.

As a smart phone user, you could have just typed in a specific URL displayed somewhere and connected directly to the site youself....indeed they could have....just as google searchers, could just type in a URL of a google ad-word Advert and avoid generating Ad revenue for google. But they dont...as proof of google revenues show. People take the simplest route, so if a link is their to be clicked on, that is easier. This is what SpotiD provides to the recipient. Simplicity. Oracle could have displayed a QRCode, but that would require that delegates already have downloaded QRCode software on their phones, that the lighting was sufficient on the booth to take a quality photo....and even after all this, Oracle would not be able to track who used the code and visited the website...with SpotiD they can.

For Oracle, it is in their interest for lead capture, to be able to identify which users are interested in a specific topic, so they can be followed up later, and to be able to provide some measurement analysis of lead generation that the Speakers/Booth/Demonstrations/Products generated at the event. SpotiD provided this information for them.

Every delegate who requested the Oracle Spots via SpotiD included their full name so they could be followed up later.....and these are warm leads, not visitors dropping cards into a fish bowl!

Well done Oracle for being an early Spotter. We look forward to more successful events together.
